Nikola Postolov (19.12.1986 - 16.01.2009)

Nikola Postolov NIKOLA POSTOLOV (19.12.1986 - 16.01.2009), was a Macedonian programmer who's talent didn't stay unnoticed. Even in his primary school days in his school he was declared as the best in his generation. Later, when he was in high school, he regularly took part in the regional and national competitions in mathematics and physics and mostly he returned with the first prizes, and he had the same success in the informatics competitions.

On the National Macedonian Olympiad he won the silver medal which gave him the right to be a participant in the 15th World Olympiad in informatics that was held in Wisconsin (USA), from where he returned with a bronze medal.

"Actually he was a universal talent, he was good in everything he did. In primary school he had his first solo concert with his accordion, and later he successfully played the pieces from Mozart and the other world's classics. The audience was amazed with the virtuosity that the young Nikola was showing. In the next years he started to replace his accordion with the computer, but both, the accordion and the computer, were taking a big part of his heart." - says his father Stefce.

In 2005 he started his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies, at the program for Informatics and Computer Engineering. The number of medals and recognitions he has won at the World Olympiads and the other competitions speak enough for his brilliance. Among other things he was one of the few practitioners from Macedonia in the world's giant Google, after what it was more certain that he would have a successful career working somewhere abroad. He also more then proudly represented the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies at several Elektrijada and ACM competitions where together with the other members of his team he gave his faculty a high rank among the other competing faculties in the world and with that he also proudly represented our country. He regularly took part of some online competitions like Code Fu (organized by Netcetera) and Top Coder.
